Why Emeralds?

Emerald is the new green. Trying to capture the concept of Ike's Guide in a little icon is pretty difficult, after some thought I decided to use an emerald. The idea is to be green, but also with a sense of abundance and prosperity. Ike's Guide has an emphasis on finding innovation, secret gems if you will.

Also, this site is made in Seattle, the Emerald City, so that added some more rationale to the emerald choice.
